LANXESS introduces its selection of premium solutions for several industry sectors at FEIPLASTIC 2017
In a 210 sq. m stand, the company will exhibit applications and product launches developed by the High Performance Material (HPM), Rhein Chemie Additives (ADD), and Inorganic Pigments (IPG) unities
LANXESS Brasil, one of the chief players in the world chemistry industry, once again will participate in the yearly FEIPLASTIC fair - Plastics International Fair, an important high technology plastic business and innovations event, in Latin America. This year it will be held from April 3rd through 7th, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., at Expo Center Norte. The fair brings together the main decision-makers in the plastic chain with future technologies.
And as one of the chief players in this market, LANXESS has brought to the event its most sophisticated and modern solutions and applications, aimed at several industry sectors, that use several types of plastic.
In this edition, the High Performance Materials (HPM) unit, whose purpose is to create solutions jointly with clients from the company’s technical know-how and expertise, will show different applications produced with materials from the Durethan line - Polyamides and Poca - PBTs and PBT blends. “Most solutions have been developed through LANXESS technology, in a partnership with our clients, with the use computer CAE/CAD analyses to find the applications’ requirements and, therefore, to develop them with the lightest possible weight, without compromising the requirements," explains Anderson Maróstica, the unit's technical area manager.
Among the products in the area, some applications brought from the parent company in Germany will be displayed, such as Honda's Bumper Beam, a part developed through a partnership with the car manufacturer. This is a vehicle rear bumper bar that replaces the currently produced metal parts, and has the same properties, however, with a 50% reduction in weight. Another highlight is the 100%-plastic brake pedal developed for the Porsche Panamera model.
Among the applications produced in Brazil, there are the first clutch pedal and pedal support for trucks developed in a partnership with Boge, using 100% plastic material, besides injected plastic front ends, a quite widespread technology in Europe which has started to be a trend in the local market, and several types of intake manifolds.
One of the other business unit that is going to participate in Feiplastic is Rhein Chemie Additives (ADD), which produces additives for plastics and plastifiers free from phthalates. These additives are used for the manufacture of plastic goods for the automotive, construction, toy, textile, food sectors, among other industries. The main LANXESS products for this unit are Mesamoll®, Unimoll® AGF, and Adimoll® DO, Disflamoll®, and Levagard®.
On the other hand, LANXESS inorganic pigments segment (IPG) introduces the Bayferrox® and Colortherm® lines, which are sustainable iron oxide and chrome-based pigments of high performance, which remain stable at high temperatures, are highly resistant to light and weathering, with good dispersibility, even in processes of short-time permanence and weak shearing force.
Among the innovations in the plastic segment applications, inorganic pigments may provide unique color possibilities.
